Here are the most frequently asked questions, if you're looking to find out something, then most likely it's on this page. If not then please contact us.
How will I be paid for my vehicle?
The most secure and convenient way to pay you for your vehicle is with an electronic bank transfer directly into your bank account. This service is completely free to you and in almost all cases we can make the electronic transfer whilst the collection driver is at your agreed collection address. You will receive a confirmation of payment via email.
If you would prefer to receive a cheque just let us know and we can arrange this.
Why can't I have cash for my car?
For security reasons it is simply not safe or practical for our consultants to carry large quantities of cash.
I cannot find my car on the website?
We will value almost all makes and models, however there are some restrictions on the age of vehicles that we will purchase (up to 7 years old only)
(2004-2010 Models).
Should you have a vehicle that does not appear in the valuation/ tender process programme, please contact us.
What happens if I miss a scratch or dent?
Our valuation is based on the description that you provide. Once you have decided to sell your vehicle a member of our team will contact you to confirm the information you have given us. If your appraisal does not match the condition of your vehicle upon collection we may have to revalue your car accordingly. If there is a decrease in the value of your car, this ammount will either be deducted from the balance that we transfer into your bank account or if you have opted for a cheque on collection we will ask you to pay the reduction via credit or debit card.
Remember, AUTOBUDDY will want to help you sell your car-we will be as fair as possible.
I do not have a E-NATIS Registration document?
For us to buy your car, we will need your original E-NATIS registration document (the car must be registered in your own name and address).
If you do not have a E-NATIS document, you can obtain one by filling in a CDV and DCT form which are available to download from www.enatis.com (forms and more) or alternatively you can pick them up at any registration office.
You will need to take these filled out forms, a verified copy of your ID as well as your ID book to the registration office where your car was originally registered.
A new document will be issued to you within 2-3 weeks. We would be unable to proceed with the transaction until you have this document and potentially we may need to revaluate your vehicle due to time delay.
What happens if I have outstanding finance on my car?
We will settle any outstanding finance on your vehicle as part of the transaction. Due to ‘Data protection’ laws you may have to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf.
If you wish to settle the finance yourself we will need written confirmation of payment from your finance company prior to us paying for and collecting the car.
If you owe more on your finance than the sale price of the car you will need to pay us the balance prior to us collecting the car.
How do you value my car?
Your price is calculated automatically when you submit your car details. The price is calculated using the industries standard car valuation methods taking into account make, model, age mileage and overall condition.
We genuinely want to help you sell your car and it is for this reason that we have developed a car valuation system that generates the best possible price that is available. We have added another dimension to the existing industry standard car valuation method by incorporating the principles of supply and demand which we believe is the most accurate and reliable method of assessment. We have carefully selected the most experienced and skilful people in the industry to compete against one another on the basis of a tender process. Your vehicle might be less popular in the area where you live in comparison to another area where there might be a big demand for such a vehicle. Because we represent buyers and sellers across the country, your chances of receiving a higher price will increase.
Our valuations are both accurate and fair but they are based on the information that you have provided. Please ensure that the information you have provided about your car is both honest and accurate to ensure the transaction is as straight forward as possible.
Will you buy an imported car?
We will consider all vehicles providing that they are legally imported. The specifications on some imported vehicles can vary and are often different which can make the valuation difficult. Please contact our valuation team for an accurate offer.
Would I be better off trading-in my car?
There are benefits in selling your car through the AUTOBUDDY Programme rather than trade in. Dealers will often offer what seems to be a ‘very good’ trade in price to persuade you to buy a potentially over priced new or used car.
In our experience the most effective way to negotiate at any car dealership is to have hard cash available to bargain with.
You should always remember to consider the overall cost of changing your car. Selling your car through the AUTOBUDDY Programme can put you in a very strong position when negotiating a price for your next one.
